TRINIDAD OFFSHORE FABRICATORS AWARDED CONTRACT TO BUILD OFFSHORE DRILLING & GAS PRODUCTION PLATFORM FOR OFFSHORE TRINIDAD

Trinidad and Tobago …Trinidad Offshore Fabricators (TOFCO) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Fluor Daniel South America Limited for the fabrication, construction, and the installation assistance of a 4,000-ton topside facility deck for an offshore drilling and gas production platform owned and operated by BG Trinidad & Tobago Limited. The Poinsettia Project will be located off the northwest coast of Trinidad in 530 feet of water.

TOFCO, a joint venture company of Chet Morrison Contractors and Weldfab Limited operates a twenty-acre fabrication yard located in Le Brea, Trinidad. Work on the project began in January, 2007. Onshore construction is scheduled for completion in June, 2008 with offshore installation completed in the fourth quarter and first gas expected by the end of 2008.

TOFCO’s General Manager Shuresh Gangabissoon reported “The Poinsettia deck will be TOFCO’s largest topside facility fabrication to-date and the largest facility constructed within the country of Trinidad and Tobago. We are proud to have been given the opportunity by Fluor and BGT&T to further demonstrate to the Oil and Gas Sector that such projects can be built in Trinidad to the required standards and schedules demanded by the industry”. The Poinsettia Topside will be the fifth major offshore platform, destined for Trinidad waters,to be constructed at the TOFCO facility since its inception in 2004.
