In 2008, our company implemented a new HSE program led by our senior management team that focused on defining and establishing HSE commitments and responsibilities. After participating in engagement sessions led by our CEO, our management team sponsored and facilitated leadership sessions that were attended by all employees. These sessions not only demonstrated our leaders’ commitment to HSE but also served to reinforce individual responsibility and accountability of all team members.
At each session, minimum standards and behavioral expectations were established. At the conclusion of each session, each individual not only made a personal, verbal commitment to work safely but also endorsed the company’s HSE core values by signing the Chet Morrison Contractors Health, Safety and Environmental Leadership Charter. Today, the banner hangs in our training center. As employees join our company, they participate in the leadership session and endorse our core values as well, thus committing to follow the Company’s HSE Charter.
